New club for former Hammer

Former Academy prospect Jaanai Gordon has secured a full time contract with the club West Ham knocked out of the Carabao Cup last week.

The 21-year-old forward has been out of contract since being let go by the Hammers at the end of last season - but can look forward to playing regular football once again having secured a permanent contract with Cheltenham Town.

"We’re really pleased to be able to sign Jaanai and officially welcome him to Cheltenham Town," said Robins boss Gary Johnson. "He is a talented player who has been part of a Premier League club in West Ham and is now very keen to make an impression.

"“Jaanai has trained with us for a few weeks so we have seen his ability. When he became available we were delighted to secure his services. He is quick and a strong forward who is determined to take on a new challenge with us."

Gordon, who spent three years at West Ham added: "I’m pleased to have signed with Cheltenham and I’m looking forward to getting involved as soon as possible and helping the club climb the league table.

"I’ve enjoyed training with the boys for the last few weeks, there is a really positive environment at the club and this a new opportunity for me that I plan to take with both hands."
