Supporters club on hiatus

The Hammers Social Club in Castle Street, East Ham has closed down foe what has been describes as "essential maintenance".

The long-running Supporters Club - which remains open despite the club moving to Stratford in 2016 - is to be closed for an indefinite period in order to allow the venue to be refurbished.

The ewns was confirmed in a short statement on whufcsc.com. "It has been necessary to temporarily close our Castle Street premises in order to carry out significant and essential maintenance and refurbishment works," it read.

"The Executive Committee will be working around the clock to ensure that works are carried out as quickly as possible and that the venue is re-opened to members as soon as we can.

"The temporary closure will NOT affect our match day bar at Stour Space, 7 Roach Road, London E3 2PA, our hub venue will remain open on match days and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

"An Extraordinary General Meeting is being arranged to provide members with more details, venue to be determined. Please visit our website to keep up to date with developments."

The official Supporters Club recently announced that they had secured a temporary alternative venue closer to the Stratford stadium, at Stour Space. It opened for trading last weekend, prior to the Swansea match.
