Following his arrest, Sinclair - who was known by Hammers fans as 'Tricky Trev' - posted a tweet on social media accusing the Police officers involved of being "racist old bill" - a message that has since been removed. He was subsequently released whilst Police continue their enquiries.
Signed during the 1997/98 season, Sinclair spent the next five years at West Ham working under Harry Redknapp and later, Glenn Roeder. He went on to make a total of 205 appearances for the Hammers - including 10 in European competition - scoring 38 goals.
