BURNLEY'S dream run in the Cee Cup came to an end in Prague as they were beaten 3-1 by Everton in the final.

The Clarets Under-18s were undone by two goals in the space of two first half minutes as they found themselves 2-0 down inside the first quarter of the game.

First Tom Warren drilled a left-footed shot across Adam Bruce and into the corner before the tournament's top scorer Ellis Simms latched on to a ball over the top to fire past Bruce.

Danny Cadamarteri made a double change at the break as Burnley sought a way back into the game and one of the replacements produced the goods, with Michael Fowler netting his third goal of the tournament with just under 20 minutes to play.

But any hopes of a Burnley comeback were quickly extinguished as Warren made it three for the Toffees, who claimed the title in the Czech Republic.

The tournament has still proved a good experience for the Clarets though, with the Category 2 Academy up against Everton's Category 1 Academy in the final.

Burnley topped a group involving Slavia Prague and Canadian outfit Prostars, before beating Turkish side Altinordu on penalties in the semi-final.
