Liverpool FC is to fund coach travel to help supporters who are attending the Reds' Premier League away fixture against Arsenal on Friday December 22.

The club will provide coaches to match ticket holders travelling to the Emirates, with fans being asked to pay a reservation fee of £10 per seat to guarantee their place.

All proceeds from the fees received will go to the North Liverpool Foodbank, to help support local people in crisis during the festive period.

"This is a unique situation in which a fixture has been moved in keeping with a request from the club not to take place on Christmas Eve," said Tony Barrett, Liverpool’s head of club and supporter liaison.

"As a result, it has inconvenienced our supporters who will be travelling to London just three days before Christmas.

"We said we would find a way to help our supporters and we hope that the solution that has been arrived at will assist those who will be attending the game."

LFC coaches will depart from Arkles Lane in Liverpool at 12 noon GMT on December 22.

Coach travel can be purchased online when supporters are selecting their tickets for the game.
