Ten 11 to 13-year-olds attended the LFC Foundation's Kicks Football + programme today at the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Training and Development Academy in Croxteth.

Building on the success of the Foundation’s Premier League Kicks programme, Kicks Football + is a new collaborative initiative between the LFC Foundation, the Premier League and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.

Through the use of football as an incentive, Kicks Football + provides a range of practical and educational activities to participants to help encourage personal growth and development.

The youngsters, who regularly attend the Foundation’s weekly Kicks sessions at Anfield Sports & Community Centre, took part in two workshops focused on anti-social behaviour.

The first workshop, delivered by Steve Pratley from Merseyside Fire and Rescue, discussed the dangers of arson and was then followed by interactive activities around drug and alcohol awareness delivered by Young Addiction.

In the afternoon, the group then travelled to the Liverpool Watersports Centre to take part in team building activities on the Aqua Park, an inflatable obstacle course.

The Kicks Football + programme will be running throughout the summer across Merseyside. For more information on how to join the LFC Foundation’s Kicks programme, please visit foundation.liverpoolfc.com.
