Hendo: There are positives, but we should have got three points
Jordan Henderson admitted his disappointment that Liverpool's attacking efforts were not sufficient to take three points against Sevilla at Anfield.
The Reds recovered from an early concession in their opening tie of Champions League Group E to lead by half-time, with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet.
Firmino knocked a penalty onto the right post shortly before the interval as the home side looked to put the match beyond the Spanish visitors, but Joaquin Correa punished their profligacy to make it 2-2 in the second half – and that is how it finished.
“We could have taken three points with the chances we created in both halves. They have got us twice on a little bit of a counter-attack,” Henderson told BT Sport.
“We’re disappointed not to take three points. But I thought the lads reacted well after the weekend, put in a good shift and going forward we looked exciting and could have scored a few more goals.”

Jürgen Klopp’s team shook off Saturday’s result at Manchester City and the fifth-minute strike by Wissam Ben Yedder to again exhibit flashes of brilliant forward play in the opening 45 minutes.
Henderson feels Liverpool can be satisfied by that aspect of the contest but was ultimately frustrated to come away with just a point.
The captain added: “We wanted to win the ball back quickly and get the crowd behind us. I felt we did that. The lads reacted brilliantly to come back and score a couple of goals, and we could have scored the penalty as well.
“Overall, there are still a lot of positives to come out of the game but we’re disappointed we haven’t taken the three points.”
