Ashley Young has been charged with violent conduct and faces a three-match ban.

The Manchester United defender has until 5pm today to respond to the charge.

Referee Craig Pawson failed to spot the defender elbowing Dusan Tadic in the stomach in an off-the-ball incident in the second-half of Manchester United 's 0-0 draw with Southampton.

TV cameras picked up the incident and Young is likely to befall the same fate as Burnley's James Tarkowski, who has just completed a three-match ban for a similar incident involving Brighton's Glenn Murray.
