Rajiv Van La Parra produced a moment of magic to earn Huddersfield’s 10 men only their second win in nine games to leave West Brom fans calling for Tony Pulis’ head.

Van La Parra curled home a peach of a strike a minute before half-time to register his first Premier League goal.

West Brom had a man advantage in the final 30 minutes when Christopher Schindler was sent off, but Pulis’ side failed to make it count as they extended their winless run to nine Premier League games.

Van La Parra was involved in all the main talking points in the first half as he appeared to dive in an attempt to win a penalty before Ahmed Hegazi and Allan Nyom were booked for clattering him.

The Dutch midfielder then produced the game’s one moment of quality when he curled a beautiful right-foot shot into the top corner from over 25 yards out.

West Brom were given hope when the Terriers’ defensive linchpin Schindler was sent off for a second bookable offence on 57 minutes for rashly diving in on Hegazi.

Pulis made a triple substitution, throwing on Salomon Rondon, James McClean and Matt Phillips, but they barely threatened Huddersfield’s goal and the Baggies fans chanted “We want Pulis out” at the end.

Lowe issues rallying cry

Huddersfield defender Chris Lowe accepts the club’s Premier League survival chances hinge on beating the likes of Saturday’s visitors West Brom.

Head coach David Wagner has targeted maximum points and Lowe acknowledges expectation levels have shifted following the Terriers’ two previous games against Manchester United and Liverpool.

“We have to be honest with ourselves,” left-back Lowe said. “These are the games that we have to win if we want to stay up, so points against the top six are a bonus.

“We don’t have to get those points, but they will help in the end. Against teams like West Brom we have to do everything to take three points, especially at home.

“We can’t promise a result, but we know that we have to win these types of games and
