The world might have been lurching from one crisis to another in 2017, but thankfully football was always there to make us laugh.

From hilarious statues to large veteran substitute goalkeepers eating pastry products on the touchline, there always seemed to be something about the beautiful game that was able to tickle our funny bones, and this list is a celebration of those moments.
