The international break is over and the Premier League will resume at Anfield for the Merseyside derby on Saturday before the rest of the games kick-off at 3pm.

At the top Chelsea host Crystal Palace and Tottenham travel to Burnley, while at the bottom Sunderland go to Watford in search of a vital three points.

Jose Mourinho admits Bastian Schweinsteiger regret

The Manchester United boss revealed his regret in the way he treated the German, who joined Chicago Fire this week.

"He is in the category of players I feel sorry for something that I did to him," said Mourinho.

"I don't want to speak about him as a player, I don't want to speak about him as a player I would or would not buy.

"I want to speak about him as a professional, as a human being. It was the last thing I told him before he left – I was not right with you once, I have to be right with you now."

Jurgen Klopp doesn't blame Gareth Southgate for Adam Lallana injury

Influential Liverpool midfielder Lallana picked up an injury on England duty and will be out for a month, but Klopp refused to point the finger of blame at anyone.

"I couldn't be less relaxed about this but it's not about blaming Gareth Southgate," said the Reds boss.

"I wasn't happy that Lallana played on Wednesday but it's not my decision.

"It's always about fixtures, when we play who and the players have to do the work Sometimes things like this happen."

Ronald Koeman says Martin O'Neill did "not protect" James McCarthy

The Everton manager accused the Republic of Ireland boss of "not protecting" McCarthy during the international break.

The 26-year-old missed Everton's past two matches but featured for his nation.

McCarthy suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury, and as a result will not be fit to play Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

"In my opinion, the Ireland manager in this instance was not protecting the player," said Koeman. "I am not surprised but I am disappointed."

Arsene Wenger aims cheeky dig at London rivals

Alexis Sanchez's future was a hot topic of conversation in Wenger's press conference, given that he is yet to sign a new deal at the club.

The Chilean recently said he would like to stay in London, fuelling speculation that he could be heading to Chelsea.

When asked whether this could be a possibility, the Gunners boss replied: "There's only one team in London, so he's happy.

"He has one-and-a-half years left on his contract. I don't think it's an immediate concern to Arsenal Football Club."

Mauricio Pochettino shows his Tottenham loyalty

The Spurs bossed claimed he could never manage Barcelona - because it would be like leaving Tottenham for Arsenal.

The Argentinean was pictured during the international break with Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu in the Catalan capital – where the 45-year-old has a property.

His meeting fuelled speculation that he could be ready to fill Luis Enrique's boots at Barcelona after he vacates his post in the summer.

But Pochettino dismissed this, saying: "I am an Espanyol fan and I love Espanyol. Now I am at Tottenham, it would be impossible for me to move to Arsenal one day."
