Arsenal got straight back to work on Monday following their 5-2 demolition of Everton on the weekend - a result that ultimately cost Ronald Koeman his job.

Arsene Wenger oversaw the training session at the club's London Colney base as the Gunners prepare for their Carabao Cup clash with Norwich City on Tuesday.

Wenger - who celebrated his 68th birthday on Saturday - is expected to rotate his squad for the fixture as they look to compete on numerous fronts.

But they'll have to be wary of a confident Canaries side who saw off bitter rivals Ipswich Town in the Championship last time out.

Here are six things we spotted from Arsenal's latest training session ahead of the fixture.

Jack Wilshere is the man of the moment

The 25-year-old made his first Premier League appearance for Arsenal this season against Everton on Saturday, and he'll be desperate to feature more and more for the north London club.

Wilshere, whose career has been hampered by injuries, is being slowly reintroduced to the Gunners first team, and has looked brilliant in the Europa League this campaign.

Speaking about Wilshere ahead of Arsenal's win over Red Star Belgrade, Martin Keown also confirmed the midfielder is in a good place.

He told BT Sport: "They are saying behind the scenes Jack is now playing better than every before in training. He has got to now do that tonight, he has to announce his career back open again.

"We know the talent has been there for years, he's just now got to do it, and this is a big enough platform for him to prove he can get into this first team, he doesn't need to go on loan. Arsenal can meet his expectations but he needs to stay fit."

And it seems the above images of Wilshere right in the middle of things in training - and trying out some ambitious flicks - back up these claims 100 per cent.

Olivier Giroud is looking to impress

It's in some way a credit to Arsenal's attacking prowess that the France international wasn't the first name on the team sheet this weekend.

The Gunners front man scored one of the goals of his career - which is saying something considering what he can do and has done previously - against Belgrade to ensure Arsenal would be returning to north London with all three points last week.

But on Saturday Wenger opted to start Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexadre Lacazette instead.

Giroud was photographed teeing up ambitious shots in training, and you can expect to see him return to the first team on Tuesday.

Arsene Wenger still has time for the youth

Everyone knows the Arsenal boss takes youth development seriously.

For years he has signed starlets with bags of potential, and has on occasion transformed them into quality players - Cesc Fabregas being one example.

So it should come as no surprise that the Frenchman - who makes it his business to shake the hand of every player before a training session - would make time for the current crop of youngsters.

What's more, you can expect to see more than a few of them named in the squad for Arsenal's game with Norwich on Tuesday.

Jens Lehmann passes down his experience

The German shot-stopper was made an assistant coach at Arsenal ahead of this campaign, and appears to have taken to the role like a duck to water.

The former Gunners keeper works with outfield players as well as those in goal directly under the man he used to play under himself, Wenger.

Photographers captured Lehmann keeping an eye on the first team training on Monday, ensuring everyone was working hard.

He was also pictured shaking hands with Theo Walcott, suggesting he has a good relationship with the squad.

Mathieu Debuchy looking to make a comeback

He was the forgotten man just one week ago, until Wenger brought him in from the cold for Arsenal's clash with Red Star Belgrade.

The 32-year-old, who has been on the Gunners' books since 2014, failed to make any real impact in north London after joining from Newcastle.

He spent 2016 on loan at French club Bordeaux, but didn't hit the ground running, and looked set to be thrown on the Emirates scrapheap.

But he may just have one more chance to shine for the Gunners following his Europa League cameo, and may well start against the Canaries.

What a different three points make

Last week Arsenal were stunned by a determined Watford side who came from behind to beat them 2-1 at Vicarage Road.

Per Mertesacker had given the Gunners the lead, but after Hector Bellerin conceded a penalty, which was converted by Troy Deeney, the away side capitulated.

Tom Cleverley scored the crucial goal of the game late into stoppage time, as the Hornets took all three points from the clash.

But Arsenal's embarrassment didn't stop there.

Deeney claimed Arsenal lacked "cojones" shortly after the game - a comment that apparently riled the club up and sparked a reaction.

After a 1-0 win over Belgrade, Arsenal thumped Everton, and, as a result, the training ground certainly appears to be a happier place right now.
