Alex Iwobi has revealed how high the stakes are for Arsenal to keep Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, should the club fail to renew their contracts.

The Nigeria star believes it would be a "huge setback" for the Gunners to lose Ozil, which speculation that Manchester United are interested.

Ozil is out of contract in the summer, and there have been reports suggesting that Jose Mourinho is interested in signing him on a free transfer at the end of the season, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The pair know each other well from their time at Real Madrid. It was Mourinho who signed Ozil in 2010 and the pair won the Spanish title together in 2012.

With the form of Anthony Martial , Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, it is questionable where Ozil would fit in.

United have also been linked with Alexis Sanchez, who is in the last year of his contract and is a prime target for Manchester City.

And should either arrive at Old Trafford, Iwobi believes that United would be getting an "unstoppable" player who can educate the club's youngsters.

"When they are fit they are unstoppable. They are both capable of changing a game or a season," Iwobi told the Sun.

"They have a big decision to make. But it would be a huge setback to lose them because from the stats you can see we do need them for their goals and assists.
