Alexandre Lacazette has played down comparisons to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, saying he wants to write his own story.
The Gunners' £52million signing has been named in Arsene Wenger's first XI to take on Chelsea in the Champions League this Sunday.
Ahead of the game he explained why he was so keen to sign for Arsenal, revealing that the north London team caught his eye as a child.
He added that big competition for places at the club was also an appealing factor, as he looks to improve his game in the English capital.
"I've liked this club since I was a child. They play good football with a lot of movement and short passes," Lacazette told BT Sport.
"They have good players who are experienced and they can help me progress.
"There is big competition for places, which can also help me progress."
The France international was also asked about the comparisons many have made between him and Gunners hero Henry.
But was quick to play these down, saying he has no intention to imitate anyone.
"When I was younger I was a big fan of Thierry [Henry]," explained Lacazette.
"But growing up I understood that every player is different and that I shouldn't try to imitate anyone as everybody has their own story.
"I just want to write my own story, I don't want to be compared to him."
