Alexandre Lacazette is already a fans favourite among the Arsenal supporters. But he'll be on course to securing himself a statue outside the Emirates if he can pull off what he is claiming he will try in his interview in Match of the Day magazine.
It's no secret that the France striker is very good friends with Atletico Madrid forward, and international teammate, Antoine Griezmann.
The pair have been photographed on numerous occasions joking about on the pitch and in training for Les Blues whenever the group meet up.
Speaking to Match of The Day magazine about his friendship with the 26-year-old, Lacazette said: "Yeah [Griezmann is my best mate], we are very good friends and have lots of fun.
"Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz. If Griezzy visits me in London, I'm going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!"
Now Lacazette is likely joking around, but Griezmann considering leaving La Liga for a new life in the Premier League isn't completely out of the question.
The France forward was linked with a move to Manchester United all summer, and was Jose Mourinho's first-choice signing ahead of Romelu Lukaku.
Griezmann even went as far as half admitting he would like to sign for the club, before it was announced that Atletico Madrid's transfer ban was to be upheld.
This prevented the Spanish club from replacing the striker, and the 26-year-old was not prepared to leave his team in the lurch, putting a stop to the deal.
Atletico have since confirmed the signing of Chelsea's Diego Costa, who will rejoin his former club in the January transfer window.
This means the path is once again clear for the Frenchman to leave, and Arsenal fans will be hoping Lacazette can be an influential figure when he makes his decision.
