Alexis Sanchez is set to start in Arsenal's FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said the Chilean was "OK" in his press conference ahead of the game, where he revealed the extent of his side's defensive crisis.

Sanchez came off in Arsenal's final game of the season against Everton with a hamstring problem, and there were fears he would miss the Gunners' biggest game of the season.

But the Frenchman is confident the 28-year-old will make himself available, saying: "Knowing him, his character and commitment to the club, he'll do everything to be fit to start the FA Cup."

Wenger also provided an update on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who he said was "in contention" for the final.

However his side will be without both Shkodran Mustafi, who is still sick and hasn't trained with the club, as well as Gabriel.

The Brazilian is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks with knee injury, which causes Wenger all sorts of problems given Laurent Koscielny's suspension.

"Football is unpredictable," explained Wenger. "We are hit hard in a position where we need to be strong on Saturday.

"We have to find solutions. Hopefully I will find the good solutions. We'll test things in training."

On the final itself, the Frenchman claimed his side go into the match as underdogs, heaping pressure on Antonio Conte.

"We are not favourites," explained the Arsenal manager. "It's quite even or maybe Chelsea are even ahead."
