Antonio Conte insists Chelsea's England Under-17 heroes will get the chances they deserve under him.

Conte believes he is the ideal manager to help guide through the Blues' World Cup winners and cited Paul Pogba and Ethan Ampadu as proof of his faith in young talent.

The Blues had five starlets in the Young Lions squad who came from 2-0 down to stun Spain 5-2 in Saturday's incredible final in India and lift the World Cup.

Forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, midfielders George McEachran and Connor Gallagher plus defenders Marc Guehi and Jonathan Panzo have all been part of Chelsea's academy since the age of eight.

England's latest youth success, which has continued a golden period for the countries under age sides, has sparked inevitable debates about how and where the nations kids will get their opportunities at club level.

Conte said: “I am very happy for our academy because it means our academy is working very well. I am very happy for our five players, and sometimes Odoi came [and trained] with us.

“Against Everton Ethan Ampadu played for the first time and he is only 17 years old. Don’t forget that my first appearance in my career in Serie A, I was only 16 years old. I think I am the best person to give this type of possibility, if I see they deserve it.

“In my experience at Juventus, Pogba was only 18 years old then after one month [at the club] he played from the start. I want to give these possibilities – but you have to deserve these possibilities.

"Ampadu, for example, is not an England player, he is only 17 years old, but he deserves to stay with us and to develop, to be the future for Chelsea.”

Former Italy boss Conte believes it won't be long before the senior side are starting to benefit from the wave of talent coming through the England setup.

He added: “A big congratulations to the whole team because to win the World Cup with the national team, under-17s means they are working really well.

“Football in England is growing in an incredible way because it is not the only result for young players because under-19s, under-20s have won and the under-21s played a really good European cup.

“I am sure that in the future, the England national team, the first team will be very difficult to beat them.

“I want to tell you this because I was a coach with the Italy national team and I think when you have this movement behind of you, you can have a great possibility to have a strong team for the next World Cup and for the competitions for the national team.”
