Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech conceded his 13th penalty as Manchester City beat the Gunners' 3-1 at the Etihad on the weekend.

In doing so he maintained his 100 per cent record of not saving a single spot-kick in Arsenal colours since signing for the club in 2015.

What's more, the goal meant that the Gunners have now conceded 12 times from the penalty spot since the start of last season.

That's more than any other Premier League side - not a great stat for a team looking to finish in a Champions League spot.

Now that's concerning enough for Arsenal supporters, but a Reddit user by the name of Barkasia has uncovered something even more worrying.

After Cech was beaten from the spot by Sergio Aguero on Sunday, the Gunners fan did some research into what is going wrong.

And it seems he might have discovered something pretty big.

According to the fan's research, of all the 13 penalties Cech has been faced with at Arsenal he has only dived the right way three times -

That means that on ten occasions his pre-match research into the opposition's spot-kick taker has failed him, or, simply he has not been able to anticipate what the striker is about to do.

To be fair to the former Chelsea man, saving a penalty is a very tough ask. But it seems something is going missing somewhere along the line where preparation is concerned.
