Arsenal fans are accusing Arsene Wenger of mishandling Alexandre Lacazette after the forward played just 68 minutes of their defeat to Watford.

The Gunners were 1-0 up at the time thanks to a Per Mertesacker goal in the first half, but fell apart shortly after Lacazette was subbed off.

Him being replaced was not the reason for Arsenal's capitulation, as Troy Deeney equalised for the Hornets from the penalty spot before Tom Cleverley won it in stoppage time.

But it marked the seventh time in eight games the France international has failed to play a full ninety minutes for the north London side.

Lacazette played an entire game for the Gunners on the opening day of the season, scoring within two minutes of his league debut in the 4-3 win over Leicester City.

But since then he has played 78 minutes, 28, 75, 66, 83, 71, and 68.

And it seems Gunners supporters are struggling to understand why the club shelled out £52million - breaking their transfer record in the process - to sign him.

With many suggesting that the way in which Wenger is handling him will have a negative impact on the player's confidence and result in him looking for a way out.
