Arsenal fans are convinced they already have a replacement for Mesut Ozil as the club prepares to cash in on him in January.

The German's contract is set to run out at the end of the season, and it seems the Gunners would prefer to sell him to Inter Milan in January as opposed to see him walk away on a free when the campaign comes to a close.

Arsenal were hoping Ozil would pen a new deal with the north London club, after he publicly announced he enjoys living in London.

But the club are no closer to a resolution with Ozil demanding around £75,000-a-week more in wages than the £275,000 limit Arsenal have tabled.

It is now looking as if the Gunners will attempt to cut their losses by selling the German in January, meaning Arsene Wenger will have to move quickly to secure a replacement.

Or will he? Well, it seems Arsenal fans aren't ready to heap pressure on the Gunners boss should the former Real Madrid forward leave.

Many are convinced they already have his replacement at the club in the form of Jack Wilshere, who has recently returned for Arsenal following a difficult few years.

The 25-year-old made his first start for the Emirates club since May 2016 in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup last month.

It was the first time he completed a full 90 minutes for the Gunners since 2014, and best of all his performance pleased the watching supporters.

Wilshere also played the full 90 minutes of Arsenal's 4-2 win over BATE Borisov in the Europa League, and was named on the bench for both wins over West Brom and Brighton.

If he can stay fit and fulfill his early potential then it seems there is no reason why the English midfielder cannot take over from Ozil - at least that's what Arsenal fans are saying.
