Alexis Sanchez took to social media to post a message to the Arsenal fans after returning from international duty.

And it seems Gunners supporters are delighted with the Chilean's sudden change of heart, as he now appears ready to kick-start his season.

The 28-year-old looked set to leave Arsenal all summer even before Manchester City made a Deadline Day move for him.

But Arsene Wenger was unable to find an adequate replacement - Thomas Lemar was at the front of the queue - in time to allow Sanchez to leave.

The Chilean, whose contract expires next summer, will therefore be an Arsenal player until at least January. But, if his latest social media post is anything to go by, it seems he doesn't mind one little bit.

Late Wednesday night the forward posted two images of himself, one showing his name and number in an Arsenal kit and the other him interacting with Gunners fans.

Alongside the two images the forward wrote: "Back home" and "Focus".

Delighted Arsenal fans reacted to the image in exactly the way you'd expect on both Instagram and Twitter, with one writing: "Alexis is a Gunner!"

Another supporter said: "That's the spirit, Alexis," while a third wrote: "Yes Alexis! Show them that mental strength and desire you've got."

And a fourth concluded: "Welcome back Beast!"

Sanchez starred in Arsenal's 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool last time out, and will be available for selection in their match with Bournemouth at the weekend.
