Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has insisted everyone at the Emirates believes in Arsene Wenger as they attempt to end their Premier League title drought.

The Gunners haven't won the big prize since their 'invincible' season of 2003-04, but sit second in the table, just two points behind Manchester City, going into the international break.

It hasn't been plain sailing, however, particularly in Europe, where Wenger's side are bottom of their group after two defeats from two fixtures in the Champions League.

Cech was left out in favour of David Ospina for the home game against Olympiacos, which saw Arsenal fall to a 3-2 defeat, including a howler from the backup keeper.

The former Chelsea custodian insists he respects Wenger's choice to play Ospina, despite Cech's impressive start to his time with the Gunners, after a shaky debut against West Ham.

Wenger continues to be under pressure from a section of the Arsenal support, but Cech insists everyone at the club believes he is the right man for the job.

"Obviously the board and everyone at Arsenal believe in the manager – that’s why he’s still here," he told Sport magazine . "It’s not just for the way you are – it must be for the way you work, too.

"The public only see the game, they don’t see all the things that are happening behind the scenes. So, sometimes, judging people only on the fraction of the time you see them working can lead to different opinions.

“He introduced me to the vision the club has for the coming years, to the reason why certain things are the way they are now and how they will be next year and the year after. I really liked the project in the way it matches my ambition."
