Former England goalkeeper David Seaman would be "quite happy" if Arsenal made a move for the current Three Lions No.1 Joe Hart.

Hart enjoyed a season on loan with Torino last season but is destined to leave Manchester City permanently with Pep Guardiola preferring a different style of goalkeeper.

Seaman is sympathetic to Hart's predicament and while he would like to see Hart come to north London, he believes competition with Petr Cech would put him off.

"Top clubs will be after [Hart] but it's going to be a chain reaction because there's all the speculation about David de Gea, whether he goes to Real Madrid or not," Seaman told Omnisport via Four Four Two.

"If that happens there'll be movement and at the moment it's hard to see where Joe might end up, but if he came to Arsenal I'd be quite happy with that.

"But I don't think that would be the position that Joe's looking for you know, to be in competition with someone. I think he wants to go to a club and be their number one."

Hart is currently with the Three Lions in preparation for the World Cup qualifier against Scotland with training at St. George's Park.

Gareth Southgate is aiming to consolidate a four point lead to second and a five point lead to third place and outside of the play-off berth.

A sterner test awaits next week against France - one of the favourites for Russia 2018.
