Arsene Wenger believes 18-year-old French prodigy Kylian Mbappe can be the next Pele, adding there are no limits to the teenager's ability.
The Monaco attacker sealed a transfer deadline day loan move to Paris Saint-Germain, with the option of the transfer becoming permanent for £162million.
Mbappe shot to prominence last season, scoring 26 goals in 44 appearances as Monaco clinched Ligue 1 glory and progressed to the Champions League semi-final.
His fine form had him linked with every major club in Europe - including Arsenal.
Speaking on French TV show Telefoot, Wenger said: "Mbappe could be (the next) Pele. There are no limits to how far he can go."
Wenger also confirmed Arsenal will 'come back for Thomas Lemar' following the Gunners' failed €100million deadline day attempt.
The north Londoners made a huge offer for the 21-year-old to cover the possible departure of Alexis Sanchez, but time was against both Manchester City and Arsenal.
Wenger not only confirmed that a club-record bid for the winger was made, and that they will try to sign the winger again.
"€100m for Lemar? Yes all true, I wanted him," said the Arsenal boss. "He decided to stay at Monaco. We will come back for him."
On financial fair play rules, Wenger added: "I wanted FFP initially. But now I think it should be scrapped. You shouldn't have a rule that cannot be imposed."
