Arsenal have donated £50,000 to emergency fund for victims of the Manchester attack victims.

A bomber killed 22 concert goers and injured 120 more, as he set off an explosion outside an Ariana Grande gig on Monday night at Manchester Arena.

As a kind gesture, the Gunners have handed the huge donation to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which is linked to the British Red Cross.

Arsenal announced in a statement on arsenal.com : "Everyone at Arsenal was deeply shocked by Monday night’s tragic event in Manchester and the thoughts of all of us here are with those affected.

"Through The Arsenal Foundation, we have made a £50,000 donation to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund in partnership with the British Red Cross to support those affected by the attack. Manchester City Council launched the appeal in partnership with the charity.

"The donation will help those bereaved and injured. Supporters who wish to join Arsenal in making a donation can do this here ."

Arsenal stars were among those writing messages of tribute to those involved in the explosion on social media.

Arsenal's official account said: "The thoughts of all of us at Arsenal are with those affected by the tragic events in Manchester."

Aaron Ramsey wrote: My heart goes out to the people of Manchester and in particular to those who have lost loved ones from this senseless act."

Mesut Ozil posted: "My thoughts are with the people of #Manchester ."

Alex Iwobi tweeted: "Thoughts & Prayers Going Out To Everyone Affected."
