Arsenal are set to continue their scouting revamp by promoting Shaun O'Connor.

O’Connor, who is currently recruitment co-ordinator for Arsenal’s academy, is credited with discovering Jack Wilshere at the Emirates.

Now, as the new scouting system takes shape, he is set to be promoted to senior scout.

It is part of the overall restructure at the Emirates, led by head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.

A number of changes have already been made following the exit of long-term chief scout Steve Rowley.

O'Connor is likely to focus on discovering young domestic talent, having unearthed the likes of Alex Iwobi and Chris Willock.

Earlier this month, Mislintat admitted expectations are high at the Emirates as he looks to bring in new faces.

The 45-year-old, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund, will work alongside Arsene Wenger.

“Going by the press in England and Germany, they expect me to sign a Dembele in each transfer window,” Mislintat said.

“I'm being put on an incredibly high pedestal.”
