Arsenal bounced back from trailing at half-time to edge out Swansea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Sam Clucas netted his first goal since swapping Hull for Swansea in the summer, latching onto Tammy Abraham's through ball and slotting under Petr Cech and it was a lead they hung on to at half-time to the chagrin of the home support.

Arsenal were rejuvenated on the resumption and only needed five minutes to level matters as Sead Kolasinac fired across former Gunners goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, while Aaron Ramsey netted the winner from Kolasinac's cutback just before the hour.

The Gunners have narrowed the gap on Spurs after their defeat to Man United at lunchtime without Harry Kane.

Just a point separates them in fourth to Spurs in third, while Chelsea are three back in fifth, but play this evening.

Arsenal

Cech 7

Yes he conceded but his quick reaction to shut out Ayew probably saved the points.

Koscielny 6

Okay without being great. Needed the break to reorganise.

Mertesacker 5

Poor. Slow and ponderous and troubled throughout by speeding Abraham.

Monreal 6

Decent without being particularly impressive.

Bellerín 6

The ball was played inside him for Swansea’s opener.

Ramsey 7

Nicely taken finish to put Arsenal ahead and, ultimately, seal the points.

Xhaka 7

Decent in midfield. A hard working shift all round.

Kolasinac 7

A wonderful second-half strike to level the scores.

Özil 7

Showed up for on the flat-track to shine once again.

Lacazette 6

Underwhelming display facing a side against whom you’d expect him to fill his boots.

Sánchez 8

Hard-working, industrious and involved in many of the positive moments.

Fabianski 6

Fine first-half save from Sanchez but no chance with the goals.

van der Hoorn 5

Composed and at it first-half. Dropped off a touch second.

Fernandez 5

Shame he couldn’t maintain his first-half tenacity.

Mawson 5

Unlucky to see his block from Ozil fall to Kolasinac for his goal.

Naughton 5

Didn’t offer enough defensively to trouble the home side.

Ki Sung-yueng 7

So much energy in midfield. Too few of his team-mates matched him.

Fer 5

Lots of effort but ultimately not good enough.

Carroll 5

Dithered at times when he could have made decisive passes.

Clucas 7

Wonderfully composed for his first-half goal. Shame they couldn’t hold on.

J Ayew 4

Needs to work on his decision-making. His lack of composure cost Swansea big time.

Abraham 7

Has a right to feel frustrated. With better service he could have helped Swansea to pull off a shock.
