Jamie Carragher stole the show in what was supposed to be a friendly debate between Liverpool and Manchester United fans before their sides clash on Saturday.
During Sky Sports' live ‘Countdown’ programme, Carragher and his Man United legend cohort Gary Neville joined representatives of popular YouTube channels The Redmen TV and FullTimeDevils.
Geoff Shreeves was the adjudicator, keeping typical fan jibes above the belt, but there was nothing to do when one United supporter commented on Carra's goal-scoring ability.
After Neville wore a comment about his stint as manager of Valencia on the chin, FullTimeDevils presenter Stephen Howson chimed in with a rhetorical question about Carragher turning a couple into his own net against United.
"You scored a brace one year, didn't you?" Howson said, laughing, referring to his own goal double.
Carragher responded with a brutal takedown: "I did, yeah, fat Russell Crowe's son, there."
"Let's not make this personal," said Shreeves, settling things down as all involved, including Howson, chuckled away.
Howson replied with a standard comment about Liverpool's lack of titles in the modern era before another low, fashion-related blow from Carragher.
“Give Liam Gallagher his cagoule back,” he said, an especially harsh call given the former Oasis star is one of the highest profile Man City fans.
Neville added his own warning, and in turn insulting everyone in Liverpool.
"I said be careful," Neville added. "Scousers - they'll always go low. Lower than you will."
Liverpool fans loved the exchange, while Man United fans happily defended their man.
This Red Saturday is definitely shaping up to be a colourful one!
