Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Borussia Dortmund chief scout Sven Mislintat over a potential move to the Emirates.

Mislintat has been instrumental in Dortmund's most successful signings in recent years, developing a reputation as one of Europe's top talent spotters.

Bayern Munich looked to hire him as their new technical director in the summer, but according to ESPN , the Gunners are now in talks to appoint him,

They report that Arsenal's current chief scout Steve Rowley, who has been at the club since Arsene Wenger arrived in 1996, is close to leaving as the club look to revitalise their transfer dealings.

Mislintat, 45, has been in his role at the Westfalenstadion since 2009, and has played a key role in finding talent in recent years.

His successes include finding the likes of Robert Lewandowski (£3million), Shinji Kagawa (£300k from Cerezo Osaka), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12million) and Ousmane Dembele (£13million).

He has also proven instrumental in Dortmund's signing of Europe's most sought-after young talents, ahead of the likes of Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Premier League rivals.
