Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had been expected to move to Stamford Bridge after Arsenal agreed a £40million deal with Chelsea.
But the England international opted to snub the west London outfit, and is instead holding out for a move to Liverpool in this transfer window.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has one year left on his Arsenal contract - and no intention of signing an extension - and the Gunners are keen to cash in on him while they can.
Liverpool were given the green light to sign the 24-year-old on Wednesday, and have already started talks with the England international.
There is bad blood between the two clubs, following the Luis Suarez saga four years ago, but it looks like Oxlade-Chamberlain's time is up at Arsenal.
Chelsea fans are a little disappointed to have again been beaten to the signing of one of their top summer targets by a Premier League rival.
And many took to Twitter to hit out at Liverpool, before apparently working out why Oxlade-Chamberlain turned them down.
We're not quite sure what we make of this, but it seems many are frustrated with their own club, who, according to the Telegraph, suggested Oxlade-Chamberlain could follow in the footsteps of Gary Cahill. And that's not exactly a draw, is it!?
