Jose Mourinho delivered another memorable press conference performance ahead of Chelsea's clash with Arsenal.

The Blues boss, who has seen his side take just four points from five Premier League games so far this season, laid into reporters in sarcastic fashion as he rubbished recent speculation that Diego Costa and John Terry were involved in a training ground bust-up.

"Normally when bad results happen the first thing that comes into your laptops, iPads and pens is to find a dramatic story," Mourinho said.

"Somebody punched someone in dressing room, the manager doesn’t want to speak with this guy."

There were rumours on Monday of an altercation between Terry and Costa at Chelsea's Cobham training ground, but Mourinho jokingly dismissed those reports.

He joked: "Diego Costa fought with John Terry and before they started the fight they brought a translator for them to understand each other in the fight because Diego can not speak English and John can not speak Spanish.

"They organise far-west duels. Each time they are going to fight they bring a translator to help them."

The 52-year-old added: "Mourinho doesn’t want to give contract to John [Terry] and [Branislav] Ivanovic. Mourinho instructs the scouts to find a right-back.

"You always go in this direction, which is funny. The other direction which you don’t go is the direction that is real."
