Chelsea and Roma played out a Champions League classic as they shared six goals at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues led 2-0 but needed Eden Hazard to salvage a point following an incredible comeback, inspired by ex-Manchester City duo Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko.

David Luiz opened the scoring for Antonio Conte's men, curling a fine finish past the goalkeeper.

Violent clashes pre-match

This is the moment Roma fans clashed with police in a swanky part of London ahead of a big Champions League match.

Black-shirted supporters pushed and shoved Met officers before they regrouped and marched forward, causing the supporters to scatter.

The scenes were hours before Chelsea took on AS Roma at Stamford Bridge in a must-win game.

Police had flocked to High Street, Kensington amid reports of ‘disorder’ with one eyewitness described ‘a bit of a melee’ before police moved on the crowd.

The Met Police confirmed one arrest had been made after fans clashed with uniformed police at 6pm. Around 10 police vans were sent to the scene, with a number of supporters said to be ‘throwing punches’.

The atmosphere is building inside Stamford Bridge.

And the Roma fans are playing a big part in that.

It should be a cracker!

A massive result in tonight’s other game in this group.

Atletico Madrid have been held by Qarabag - and the hosts ended with 10 men.

It could have been worse for Simeone’s side too.

If Chelsea win tonight, they’ll be seven clear of Atletico at the top of the group.

Welcome folks

Alvaro Morata is expected to start following a hamstring injury when Chelsea play Roma in Champions League Group C on Wednesday night.

But right wing-back Victor Moses is to join midfielder N’Golo Kante in being absent with a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Danny Drinkwater (calf) remains sidelined, so Chelsea may play Davide Zappacosta in place of Moses and could push David Luiz or his fellow defender Andreas Christensen into midfield.

Boss Antonio Conte said:

“When there are injuries of this type, it’s very difficult for us. This is the situation and we must overcome it and try to do our best.

“The problem is that the same players are always playing. In our team we have players not used to playing three games in a row. For Kante it’s the first time, for Moses it’s the same.

“For Morata it’s the first time he will play with this team. When you have a lot of games you need to protect players. If this isn’t possible I have to take a risk.”
