Liverpool striker Danny Ings insists he will find 'a way to make it happen' at Liverpool and is finally ready to kickstart his career as he continues his long fight back from injury.

Ings has suffered a nightmare run on the sidelines after being forced to miss most of the last two-years after he initially ruptured the ACL in his left knee in a training session during Jurgen Klopp's first week in charge.

The former Burnley striker scored the last goal of Brendan Rodgers time in charge of the Reds, but has failed to score a goal or start a single game as Klopp prepares to celebrate two-years in charge of the Merseyside club this weekend.

After initially coming back from the ACL with substitute appearances in last year’s League Cup, Ings suffered another heartbreaking setback last October when he suffered an injury to his other knee against Spurs at Anfield.

That setback, he later admitted, left him in tears when he received the diagnosis but he is now now back playing with the U23s and recently joined the first team again for the last 20 minutes of the Carabao Cup defeat at Leicester.

According to the Liverpool Echo , the 25-year-old remains determined to make his Liverpool dream have a happy ending.

“Everywhere I have been, I have always found a way to make it happen. I have been in a lot of tough situations at previous clubs where it has been hard to break in,” he told the Times.

“People from the outside looking in will probably have the assumption, ‘Oh, he’s the forgotten man’ but it has not crossed my mind at all. I still believe in myself. I still believe I can play in this team.”

There have been recent rumours of a possible January loan deal, with Leeds one possible option, though Ings appeared less than keen to walk away from Anfield.

“When you are at a club like Liverpool, it is not a club that you want to walk away from. It would grate on me for the rest of my career, and the rest of my life, if I had not done everything to give it my all.

“I still feel like I have a big part to play in this football club.”

And where is he at with those injuries?

"Today I couldn’t be happier with where I am fitness wise and how good my knee does feel. I am in a good place and I want to build on that.”
