Roy Hodgson will unleash a three-pronged England strike force on Estonia.

Tottenham's Harry Kane will lead the attack, with Theo Walcott on the right and Raheem Sterling wide left at Wembley on Friday night in the penultimate Euro 2016 qualifier. Skipper Wayne Rooney misses the match because of an ankle injury.

Three Lions boss Hodgson has decided on his starting XI apart from one uncertainty, which surrounds Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.

Carrick, 34, will undergo a fitness test on a groin problem which forced him to miss training on Thursday.

That is a blow for Hodgson, who is keen to try out Carrick in a 4-3-3 formation as he experiments in the build-up to next summer’s Euro 2016 finals.

Hodgson said on Thursday: “We would like to see him (Carrick) play, which is why I didn’t ask him to train today.

"He’s been unlucky on a couple of occasions when he’s been pencilled in to play, but he’s had to leave us with injury. But, again, I’ll have to wait and see.

“If he doesn’t, we’ll have to be alive with our thinking.

"If it didn’t work out tomorrow – and I believe it will - then no one will be more disappointed than Michael.”

It is believed Everton’s Ross Barkley will come in to deputise if Carrick does not pass his fitness test.
