Holland international Vincent Janssen is set to put his Tottenham nightmare behind him when he joins Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Much was promised of Janssen when he moved to Spurs in the summer of 2016 for £17million after netting 27 times in the previous Eredivisie campaign for AZ Alkmaar.

But he struggled at White Hart Lane, scoring just two Premier League goals in 24 outings and only six in all competitions.

Following the summer arrival of Fernando Llorente, Janssen was pushed further down the pecking order at Spurs, meaning a move abroad will be good for him.

It will be a great chance for him to rekindle his previous form, find his shooting boots, and return to being a quality attacking option.

But Janssen won't be the only striker with a link to Tottenham when he arrives in Istanbul to meet his new teammates.

The club also own Roberto Soldado, who was purchased by Spurs for £26million from Valencia back in 2013.

Like Janssen, the Spaniard also flopped at Tottenham before leaving for Turkey.

And well, English football fans - well, Spurs fans in particular, actually - cannot help having a little giggle at what is now Fenerbahce's problem.
