David Moyes has admitted he would be "interested" in replacing Slaven Bilic as West Ham's manager.

Mirror Footballrevealed on Saturday night that former Manchester United chief Moyes was the Hammers' top choice to take over from struggling Bilic - who is on the brink of the sack.

The Croatian suffered a fifth Premier League defeat of the seasons as Liverpool thrashed them 4-1 at the London Stadium to leave the east Londoners a point above the relegation zone.

Hammers joint-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold now have a decision to make going into the international break. It is understood that the £3million compensation package Bilic would be due – added to the cost of hiring a replacement – is keeping him in the job.

Bookies favourite Moyes is gagging to get back into club management after he was sacked by Sunderland a day after relegating the Black Cats to the Championship.

"I have no contact from West Ham," Moyes told beIN Sports. ""I've always said I want to go back into club management, that is my choice, and if the right opportunity comes along then I will be interested.

"I'm interested, yes, but that vacancy isn't available.

"I've been there myself what Slaven is going through at the moment and he must be hating it and wanting to get a result as quickly as he can.

"The geography doesn't matter as long as it is a good club. North or south it doesn't matter.

"I hope [I will be back in club management after the international break] but a manager would have to lose his job and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

"Whoever's job you take you aren't in them very long so it wouldn't be too long until I am back out [doing punditry]."

Moyes has also been linked with the vacant Scotland job - after Gordon Strachan resigned following the nations failure to reach the 2018 World Cup.

But insisted that taking charge of his homeland is on the future bucket list.

"One day I want to manage Scotland if I'm lucky enough to do that," he also told beIN Sports.

"I'm don't know if it is right for me right now and my preference at the moment is to get back into club management.

"If club management didn't come along for me then maybe I would look at it differently."
