Ex-Premier League star Jamie O’Hara has been charged with assaulting a young football fan and will appear in court on November 10.

Former Tottenham, Wolves and Fulham midfielder O'Hara, 31, allegedly lashed out at a 16-year-old during a clash with opposing fans after Billericay Town's 3-2 defeat to Leatherhead in April.

O’Hara had joined the seventh tier club in March.

Home supporters chanted “what a waste of money” in the direction of O’Hara after the final whistle, as he made his way down the tunnel.

Footage posted on social media at the time appeared to show a young fan hold out his hand to shake O'Hara's hand, before pulling it away.
