Gary Lineker isn't afraid to say what he wants on Twitter. That has been brilliantly apparent for quite some time.

The Match of the Day host has become one of the best people to follow on social networking site thanks to a mixture of views on politics, football and how best to wind up Piers Morgan, and it is no surprise that he's amassed 6.59 million followers.

When he tweets, people tend to read, and that was certainly the case on Saturday morning.

Ahead of a packed Premier League Saturday which includes matches for Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, Lineker - who played for Spurs for three years - tweeted "Match of the Day looks good tonight with all of the title contenders in action."

Clearly knowing that he was eliminating Arsenal from the title discussion - with the Gunners facing West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Monday - Lineker's comment obviously drew plenty of attention.

And then he went and backed it up with another one, as he "remembered" that he'd forgotten about one of the contenders.

Newcastle - who sit fourth in the table after a good recent run of form - go to Brighton on Sunday, and although they're fourth in the table at the moment, you won't find many people willing to suggest that they could finish above a stuttering Arsenal.

Except Lineker, perhaps.

And when he does it'll probably be funny.
