Granit Xhaka joined Arsenal pals for a team meal on Tuesday night, 24 hours after being quizzed by police following accusations he racially abused a member of staff at Heathrow.

The Swiss star was questioned at a police station under caution after allegedly calling an airport worker a “f****** white bitch”.

However, Xhaka looked to have put the incident behind him as he dined out with Gunners teammates on Tuesday.

Twenty four of the squad were pictured in a snap shared by several players on social media, but Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi and Santi Cazorla appeared to stay at home.

Xhaka also uploaded an image of himself with Olivier Giroud, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin posing around the dinner table.

The 24-year-old appeared in good spirits despite a rollercoaster 48 hours.

He is understood to have had the row at Heathrow a day after being sent off in the Gunners’ win over Burnley which will earn him a four-match ban.

Switzerland captain Xhaka was taking a friend to the airport, who was refused entry to the flight after arriving late for boarding and witnesses then saw the alleged row.

Xhaka is understood to dispute the incident.

A Metropolitan Police statement read: “Police were called at 19:29hrs on Monday, 23 January following an allegation that a member of staff had been racially abused at Heathrow Airport, Terminal Five.

“The allegation was made by a third party. Officers attended and spoke with a man in his 20s. He was not arrested.

"He voluntarily attended a west London police station where he was interviewed under caution Enquires continue.”

Arsenal have declined to comment.

Xhaka, a £32.5million summer signing from Borussia Monchengladbach, saw red for the second time this season for an ugly lunge on Burnley's Steven Defour.

Mirror Sport understands Wenger is furious with Xhaka and the 24-year-old has been warned already about his discipline or lack thereof.

"He has to control his game, and not punish the team with his lack of control and his tackling," Wenger said on Sunday.

"We don't encourage our midfielders to go down in tackles, we want them to stand up and not make these kind of fouls."

And Wenger will haul now Xhaka in this week for a dressing down about his behaviour.

The Swiss international was sent off for a second yellow card against Swansea back in October and this latest example of ill-discipline could now see him hit with a four-game ban.
