Hernan Crespo believes Manchester United have the edge over Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

The Argentine legend won the title under Jose Mourinho during his time at Stamford Bridge.

And he believes the United boss will wrestle back the crown this season after landing Romelu Lukaku.

Crespo also gives his tip for Player of the Year and reveals why he would love to manage in the Premier League.

Here is what the former striker had to say.

Who will win the title?

“I think Manchester United will win the Premier League because Mourinho has never failed in a second season. Jose is one of the best in the world. He’s made history everywhere with Porto, Inter and now he can do it with Manchester United.

“It’s difficult to explain, but when you play with Mourinho, you feel like the best striker in the world. There are two different people with Mourinho.

"The one in front of the camera and another Mourinho in the dressing room. I prefer the Mourinho in the dressing room, he’s friendlier.

"I really like his method of training, his motivation and his passion.”

Who will finish in the top four?

"I think the top four will be Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. The best managers in the world are in the Premier League now. If you think about Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Mourinho - it is a very good championship now.

"Mauricio Pochettino has worked hard to put Tottenham on another level but they are missing something. They had a great opportunity to win the league when they came second behind Leicester.”

Who will win Player of the Year?

Rooney has returned to Goodison (

"Wayne Rooney can be Player of the Year. It’s a romantic choice for me.

"I would love to see Wayne Rooney have a great season back at Everton.”

Who will win the Golden Boot?

“Harry Kane is the best striker in the Premier League right now, but for me, Romelu Lukaku is the best signing of the summer transfer window.

"He has experience in the Premier League and scored a lot of goals at Everton.

"Now he will want to prove to everybody, and himself, that he can do it at a big club like Manchester United after it didn’t work out for him at Chelsea.

"If I was a Premier League manager and had to choose between Lukaku, Morata and Lacazette, I would choose Lukaku, always.”

Is missing out on Lukaku a big blow for Chelsea?

"I think yes because it’s this kind of player that you want to have in your first XI. But you have the four and you never rely on him, normally if you have the chance to sign to another team you do it."

Will Morata be as good as Costa?

"They are different players. Diego Costa plays in the middle, he wants to fight behind the defenders, in the middle of the defenders and fight and fight.

"Morata is different, maybe wants to start the action, he predicts to play on the left and not stay in the middle. I think it’s another kind of player but at the same time are two great scorers.

Who will be Chelsea's key man?

"The key was the team [last year]. I think Conte changed in the crucial moment after the defeat against Arsenal because personally he surprised me when he start the first XI with four in the back.

"And after the defeat against Arsenal change and make three behind and they start to play better, that’s what Conte wanted to do and the players follow him. This is a very good job and that means he’s a very good manager."

What do you make of Conte?

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte (

"He’s a great coach. He did great in Italy, not only with Juventus because everybody knows him in Juventus but before in Bari and Siena, he built two great teams in the second division and brought them up.

"But in Juventus it was an unbelievable situation, I don’t want to say with nothing - but not with great players, he built a great team with good tradition but he came back with Juventus to be the first in Italy after a long time."

Who is the best manager in the Premier League?

"It’s difficult I want to choose Mourinho but I like Guardiola a lot."

Would you like to become a manager?

Chelsea's Hernan Crespo appeals (

"Now I’m vice president of Parma but at the same time I have a dream to become a great manager.

"But I like to be involved in football and now my job is to help my former team Parma to get back to the high level that they deserve. It’s a good job but you never know, maybe in one, two or three years I can become a manager, you never know."

Would you manage in England?

"Wow, I hope so. Yes because I like this kind of situation that there is for managers in England because it’s not only about the players or not only about the pitch.

"It involves the 360 degrees in the club. And I like so much this kind of situation, I don’t try to do this in Italy because they would never do it."

How will Neymar settle in at PSG?

"Like Gary Lineker said, when you leave Barcelona, it’s one way that you go. It’s back to normality. And it’s true.

"But maybe Neymar wants to feel another kind of pressure and have all the responsibility to make history. If you win the Champions League with Paris Saint Germain, you make history.

“I think everyone talks about the money but he didn’t play in Barcelona for free. It’s not about the money; it’s about a new challenge and becoming the new king of the world, because [playing] with Messi is very difficult for him.

“With Neymar, you’re talking about the number 10 of Brazil. You have a lot of pressure there but he’s a great player and he’ll make the difference 100% and won’t feel the pressure.”
