It's the international break, so what better time than to recap on the season so far - in week 13 - top see which of the Premier League's best strikers are offering the most bang for their buck.
Now we appreciate that each of the below players offer their clubs more than just their ability to hit the back of the net, but at the end of the day it is this one thing that they're expected to do more than any of their teammates - even if it is the hardest part of the game.
Below we've taken a look at what each player has earned in basic wages - we've not included appearance fees for example - to this point in the season and divided that by how many goals they've scored to see exactly what their respective employers are getting for the individual's services.
Of course some players have featured in more games than others, while some have played longer periods of each match they have starred in - but that's their manager's call. At the end of the day they still receive their same basic weekly wage, regardless of how many minutes they've played.
Harry Kane
Club: Tottenham
Appearances: 1 1
Wage: £100,000 per week
Goals: 8
Minutes played: 871
Earned per goal scored: £162,500
The Golden Boot winner for the last two seasons, Harry Kane knows where the back of the net is and, we'd imagine, is the first name on Mauricio Pochettino's team sheet. Tottenham pay Kane a modest wage, especially considering what the majority earn in this list, which begs the serious question, will they be able to keep hold of him when Real Madrid come calling in the summer?
Bang for buck rating: 5/5
Sergio Aguero
Club: Manchester City
Appearances: 8
Wage: £220,000 per week
Goals: 8
Minutes played: 605
Earned per goal scored: £357,500
Manchester City pay a premium for the Argentine, and for very good reason. He's proved he's prolific in front of goal for a number of seasons, and is level with Kane as this year's top goalscorer in the league - to this point, of course. The Citizens have shelled out a lot more on Aguero than Tottenham have on Kane per goals scored this season, but the Argentine has made less appearances.
Bang for buck rating: 4/5
Romelu Lukaku
Club: Tottenham
Appearances: 1 1
Wage: £200,000 per week
Goals: 7
Minutes played: 990
Earned per goal scored: £371,429
Manchester United splashed the cash to bring the Belgian to Old Trafford in the summer, and for very good reason. Lukaku hit the ground running, storming to the top of the Premier League goalscorers table. He's currently on a bit of a drought, and as a result his earnings per goal have started to look a little unhealthy from a Manchester United point of few. Still, you have to pay a premium for one of the best in the buisness.
Bang for buck rating: 3.5/5
Gabriel Jesus
Club: Manchester City
Appearances: 1 0
Wage: £70,000 per week
Goals: 7
Minutes played: 604
Earned per goal scored: £130,000
We may have already included Aguero as 'Manchester City's star striker' but it seemed very unfair leaving Jesus out, considering he is also a front man, and has scored just one less than his teammate so far this season. Not only has Jesus kept up with Aguero, but Man City are paying the Brazilian a lot less in which to do so. He's an absolute bargain when you compare him to most in this list, even if there are talks of him receiving a wage increase at this very moment in time.
Bang for buck rating: 5/5
Alvaro Morata
Club: Chelsea
Appearances: 7
Wage: £155,000 per week
Goals: 7
Minutes played: 722
Earned per goal scored: £287,857
Chelsea landed the former Real Madrid forward after missing out on Lukaku, and managed to attract him for a lot less money per week. Morata has scored the same amount of goals as Lukaku this season, and the Blues have saved nearly £100,000 as a result of this. Not bad if you ask us.
Bang for buck rating: 4/5
Mohamed Salah
Club: Liverpool
Appearances: 1 1
Wage: £120,000 per week
Goals: 7
Minutes played: 853
Earned per goal scored: £222,857
Another bargain when you consider the fact that Salah has scored as many goals as Lukaku, who earns £80,000 more than him each week. The former Roma forward has proven himself a hit on Merseyside, after a failed spell at Chelsea a few years ago, and would have received a 5/5 bang for his buck rating if it hadn't been for the fact he's played quite a few more minutes than Jesus, and costs a little bit more than Kane.
Bang for buck rating: 4.5/5
Alexandre Lacazette
Club: Arsenal
Appearances: 1 1
Wage: £200,000 per week
Goals: 6
Minutes played: 751
Earned per goal scored: £433,333
Bang for buck rating: 1.5/5
Arsenal parted with £52million in the summer to land France international Lacazette from Ligue 1 side Lyon. He was expected to start every game for the Gunners, but has only played a full 90 minutes once for Arsenal in the 11 appearances he has made for the north London club. It is because of this that it is a bit unfair on Lacazette that his bang for buck rating is 1.5/5. But the decision to take him off every week is Arsene Wenger's to make, and the striker has cost Arsenal an absolute fortune per goals scored, whichever way you look at it.
