Henrikh Mkhitaryan was left out of the Manchester United squad AGAIN as the Red Devils thumped Fenerbahce at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho made several changes to the side that started against Liverpool on Monday night for the Europa League Group A clash but there was no sign of the Armenian international.

The midfielder had been ruled out for a few games with a thigh injury but returned to training a few weeks ago.

Mourinho confirmed Mkhitaryan was available for both games against Liverpool and Fenerbahce.

Speaking ahead of the clash, the United boss explained his decision.

"One thing is fit and not injured, another is match fitness, match intensity and ready to play this game," Mourinho told BT Sport.

"I play with Lingard and Martial, I have on the bench Rashford and Memphis Depay, I cannot play with everyone at the same time.

"Micky hasn’t played in a long time, this team is a good team with a good intensity."

Despite being one of just four summer signings, Mkhitaryan has found himself down the pecking order leaving question marks over his long-term future at the club already.

And with United facing a crucial away trip to Chelsea at the weekend, it is likely Mkhitaryan could find himself waiting in the wings a little while longer.
