Jose Mourinho is planning for a busy summer as Manchester United manager after being confirmed as the club's new boss.

The Portuguese, whose first action after joining Instagram on Friday was to post a picture of his United contract, uploaded his second snap to the picture sharing app on Saturday morning.

Alongside a photo of a couple of A4 folders, one of which contained a picture of the United crest with the words, "Summer with Euro 2016 and Copa America 2016," Mourinho wrote: "Back at work."

Mourinho put pen to paper on a £45million three-year contract with the option of a further year on Thursday before United officially confirmed the 53-year-old's appointment the following day.

Speaking to MUTV, Mourinho vowed to try and erase the past three years of underachievement from the club's history and bring a new era of success to Old Trafford.

“I think we can look at our club now in two perspectives,” Mourinho said. “One perspective is the past three years and the other is the club history.

“I prefer to forget the past three years, I prefer to focus on the giant club I have in my hands now and I think what the fans are expecting me to say is that I want to win.

“I want to win. And more than that I need the supporters and players to feel that I say that, it’s not just for the sake of saying it.

Signed, sealed, delivered: Mourinho's first Instagram post was a picture of his contract

“I want to focus on the history of this giant club and give what I have and what I don’t have, so I will give absolutely everything to try to go into the direction we all want.

“I know what the fans can give me and I think also they know what I can give them.”
