The pressure of securing the Premier League title hasn't been the only matter causing Jose Mourinho stress recently.

The Portuguese manager has been splitting his time between England and Portugal, where his father has been in hospital.

Local press reported that Jose Snr had suffered a stroke, but that was not the case. He had in fact been in hospital for surgery relating to a brain haemorrhage.

Chelsea boss Mourinho flew out earlier in the week to be present for his father's operation and admitted he was glad the ordeal was over.

"When the game finished at Leicester [on Wednesday] I got immediately a private plane to go to Portugal," said Mourinho.

"I was there with him for the most difficult moment, which was the moment of the surgery.

"Apart from that, everything is under control. He's strong. He's getting better, better, better, better. I'm much more relaxed."

Mourinho's Chelsea finally secured their Premier League crown on Saturday after beating Crystal Palace.

He said of the game: "Today was not a game to enjoy. Today was the game to finish the job."
