It's not been an easy start for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Liverpool, but things have taken a turn for the better in recent weeks.
The £40million signing got his first goal for the club against Maribor in the Champions League and then started in the reverse fixture on Wednesday evening.
It may have only been his second start for the Reds but he took it well, impressing boss Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool won the Champions League clash 3-0, with second half goals from Mohamed Salah, Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge providing all three points for the hosts.
The Ox played all 90 minutes in what appeared to be a key step in his Liverpool career. Pleased with his performance, Klopp even hinted that he is close to starting a game in the league.
"If he starts a Champions League game, he is not far from starting a Premier League game, no?" said Klopp.
The Liverpool boss also revealed the one thing he did against Maribor that he never did for Arsenal. "He was good, he offered a lot, I loved his counter-pressing situations," added the German.
"I’m not sure he did this a lot of times in his life already so it was really nice to see."
