Jurgen Klopp confirmed Philippe Coutinho is still nursing a back injury after he missed Liverpool's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Brazilian was the subject of a massive £118million bid from Barcelona this week, and has his heart set on a move after handing in a transfer request.

Coutinho missed Liverpool's opening game of the new season, a 3-3 draw with Watford, and didn't feature at Anfield this weekend, reports the Liverpool Echo.

But Klopp insisted there was no change to the physical condition of the player - the reason for him missing his second game in two weeks.

He also declined to confirm details of the £118m third bid from Barcelona for Coutinho yesterday, a bid again rejected out of hand by Liverpool, and one comprising significant add-ons and staged payments.

Klopp said: "Nothing new from the injury side and if I speak to the owners (about the bid) I don't think this is the situation where I should talk about it.

"I am informed, as you can imagine, about everything that happens in the club but nothing has changed.

"I don't say there was another bid, I just say that nothing has changed."

Liverpool remain firmly committed to keeping the Brazilian despite his transfer request just over a week ago and with Barcelona desperate to spend some of the £200million they received from PSG for Neymar.
