Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his Liverpool side can get back to winning ways when they return to action on Tuesday night.

The Reds were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Burnley on Saturday to leave them five points off the pace in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool also made a stuttering start to their Champions League campaign and Klopp's men will be searching for a first win in four games when they head to the King Power.

Leicester have endured a difficult start after taking just four points out of a possible 15 available.

Both sides are expected to make changes, and you can get the latest Liverpool team news and more when Klopp faces the media this afternoon.

Klopp to ring in the changes at Leicester

Jurgen Klopp will ring the changes for the Carabao Cup... and offer some of his fringe stars the chance to stake a real first team claim.

The Liverpool manager revealed he will look to rest most of his top stars for the visit to Leicester on Tuesday night, and offer players like Danny Ings, Marko Grujic and keeper Danny Ward some much needed game time.

But the Reds boss insisted he is not simply rotating for the sake of it – he believes players like young midfielder Grujic are ready to force their way into the starting line up if they are offered the chance.

“We have a lot of players who are in good shape, but have not had match time so far. For instance Marko Grujic has made a big step, but no one has seen it yet because he has not had game time,” he explained.

“We have enough games so the players can gain rhythm. It is a good moment, I’m sure both sides will make a few changes, that makes sense for the players.

“It gives others an opportunity to get some football and get some fresh legs.”

Ward will definitely start, which means Klopp will have selected all three of his keeper’s already this season, and he joked that he doesn’t know if fans are ready for such a radical approach!

Flanagan will be in the squad

Remember Jon Flanagan? Jurgen Klopp does and he says the former academy product will be in the squad tomorrow night.

It remains to be seen if he will start, as that depends on Lovren’s fitness, with Gomez ready to come in at centre-back if not.

Klopp on Liverpool being ruthless

Klopp is continuing to talk about the Burnley game.

“When we don’t score the first goal it is like this (pressure) and you can feel it in the stadium.

“I didn’t see a lack of being ruthless. They were in the right positions.

“Solanke hit the crossbar, do I need to talk to him about this? Outside people do.

“We have to take the criticism and the blame.

“It’s not allowed for us to be happy or satisfied after (Burnley) but we cannot question everything. I can see the good and bad things”

Klopp identifies what Liverpool need to work on

More from the Reds boss on their current problems:

“We have to score and avoid goals from the opponent - actually we do that quite often but not always. We love working together, we enjoy this team but we also know there is a big responsibility.”

Klopp on the title race

He now weighs in on the title race.

“I watched United and City, but it’s not my job to count points. They are in a good shape but a season is like this. As long as your attitude is right then you do not need to look at other teams.

“It’s not a surprise that City and United are in (the title race). I cannot always say what everybody wants to hear. If I am fine with a lot of things then I say it and a lot of people do not want to hear it.

“I can’t change my opinion every day because there are 500,000,000 different opinions.”

That’s a lot of opinion, Jurgen.

"I am not overly happy with our situation"

The German is continuing to talk about the pressure following their spotty recent run of results.

“I’m not overly happy with our situation, but I know why it is,” he continues.

“We know we are strong, and that we need to deliver. That’s what we need to work on.”

Klopp: I don't feel pressure

Klopp is now asked if he feels any pressure to win trophies.

“I’m not sure if there is pressure on us,” he says. “I don’t feel pressure, I feel opportunity, the chance to do something really good.

“I have pressure, but it cannot be bigger than the pressure I put on myself.”

Danny Ward to play tomorrow

Klopp has confirmed Danny Ward is set to play between the sticks for Liverpool against the Foxes.

“I’m not sure the world is ready for such a crazy decision, a third goalkeeper in one season! Danny Ward will play tomorrow.”

Expect changes vs Leciester

Klopp says he is likely to make changes for the clash against the Foxes.

“As long as we can line up strong, we will line up strong. I’m sure both sides will make a few changes, that makes sense.”

He is then pushed to name his line-up:

“Can you tell me the line-up of Leicester? Well then (don’t expect me to tell you mine!)“.

Klopp is here...

Right, the German has arrived so let’s get this show on the road.

And he kicks off with a question about the importance of the League Cup.

“Importance is same as every. 100 per cent focus on that game. Big competition, I don’t care how people see it.”

No talks over new Sturridge deal yet

Daniel Sturridge’s long-term Liverpool future is shrouded in doubt — with the Merseyside club still to open talks about a new contract.

Kop boss Jurgen Klopp is yet to be convinced that he can rely on the injury-prone England striker and the Reds are likely to wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to offer him an extended deal.

Sturridge has less than two years left on his current agreement – a stage when clubs are usually striving to tie down their top performers.

Shearer: Liverpool no better under Klopp than Rodgers

Alan Shearer insists that Liverpool are no better under Jurgen Klopp than they were under Brendan Rodgers.

Disastrous defending led to Burnley’s goal in Saturday afternoon’s 1-1 draw at Anfield, while similar problems contributed as they fell short against Sevilla in the Champions League.

Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool in October 2015, after a run of only one win in nine games - where a leaky defence was again to blame for a lot of dropped points.

Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, claims that reaching the top four last season as blurred the perception of where Liverpool are at.

Coutinho makes Reds vow

Philippe Coutinho has promised Liverpool fans he will give everything to the Reds cause...despite his attempts to force a move away from Anfield.

The Brazil midfielder put in a transfer request, and was even rumoured to be ready to go on strike to ensure he got a dream move to Barcelona.

Some reports claiming to be close to the player’s agent suggested he would continue to refuse to play for Jurgen Klopp even after the transfer window closed.

The midfielder missed the opening three weeks of the season with a back injury that swiftly cleared up as soon as he went away on international duty.

Liverpool's lack of ruthlessness in attack is costing them

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has hit out at the Reds’ failure to kill off Burnley, saying their lack of cutting edge in front of goal makes the Premier League title a distant ambition.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been criticised for their defensive displays this term, but it was their inability to put the ball in the back of the net which frustrated Redknapp at the weekend.

Liverpool had 35 shots at goal but couldn’t add to Mo Salah’s equaliser as they dropped two points against the Clarets.

And Redknapp believes they need an out and out goal scorer if they are to be in the mix in May.

“Liverpool may have issues at the back but what really concerned me was their inability to kill off Burnley,” he wrote in his column in the Daily Mail.

“Against teams like Burnley who defend resolutely, Liverpool need a ruthless goalscorer to put the game to bed. Think of Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen.

“If they cannot convert their dominance into goals, the Premier League title remains a distant ambition.”
