Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum is celebrating a hat-trick with the birth of his third child.

The Dutch midfielder helped the Reds beat Hoffenheim in the Champions League play-off at Anfield last night and had an even better day today.

Earlier today, fans were puzzled after the star posted photos as a travelled on a train in Rotterdam.

But later it all became clear why he'd dashed back to his home city when he revealed his son had been born this afternoon.

He wrote on his social media accounts: "I am really pleased to share with you all the amazing news that my beautiful girlfriend gave birth to our son Jacian Emile Wijnaldum at 2.22pm today the 24-8-17.

"I am so proud of both my girlfriend and our son both of whom are healthy and happy.

"Jacian is a wonderful addition to our family, and will be a much loved son and little brother."

He added: "What a day!" and "#blessed."

Usually Wijnaldum keeps his family life with long-term girlfriend Virginia Braaf private.

They have been together since meeting at school aged 12, and are understood to already have two girls together, Ki-yeann and Aysïa-Mae.
