Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has spoken out about his international teammate Alexis Sanchez as the pair linked up with the rest of the Chile squad.

Sanchez has been strongly linked with a move away from Arsenal in this transfer window, and the Citizens are keen to take the forward to the Etihad.

City saw an initial £50million bid for the Chilean rejected by Arsenal, who are holding out for quite a bit more, but are set to make another offer for the 28-year-old.

Bravo was asked to provide insight on his teammate's mood ahead of Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Paraguay, and claimed Sanchez is happy.

"It's good that we don't see Alexis Sanchez becoming frustrated about things because he isn't going through a bad situation. Quite the opposite," said Bravo.

"He has a great future ahead of him, whether he remains at Arsenal or looks for new horizons. But everything is in a positive light. There's nothing negative.

"He doesn't have to be down, quite the opposite."

City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to sign the forward, who played under him at Barcelona, before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

Arsenal have repeatedly insisted the Chilean is not for sale, but the Citizens feel a deal is possible and are preparing to make an improved bid.
