Manchester City broke the Premier League record for consecutive victories with their 15th win in a row, against Swansea, on Wednesday evening.

Pep Guardiola's men had equalled the record of 14 set by Arsenal in 2002 when they won the Manchester derby against rivals United on Sunday, and then they broke it with their 4-0 success in south Wales.

David Silva continued his fine goalscoring form with the opener against the Swans, with Kevin De Bruyne doubling that advantage just two minutes later.

Silva then continued his fine scoring form with another goal early in the second half, before Sergio Aguero rounded off the scoring five minutes from time.

City have won 16 of their 17 Premier League matches this season, with their only dropped points coming in their second match of the campaign against Everton.

Manchester United's victory over Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Wednesday ensured that Guardiola's men remain 11 points clear at the top of the table, as they seek a first league title since 2014.
